One of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture in the United States, the George W. South Memorial Church of the Advocate stands as a beacon for social justice in the North Philadelphia Community. Providing food, shelter, clothing, and social referrals to the homeless and underserved, as well as day care and after school programs for struggling, working families, this historic church has long been known for its human compassion and outreach. Services are Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Visitors are warmly welcomed by a small, friendly congregation.
